P&O Princess Cruises Completes Global Implementation Of CrunchTime! For Managing Foodservice Operations Fleet-Wide

CrunchTime! Information Systems, provider of enterprise-class back office solutions for multi-unit foodservice and hospitality companies, announced that Princess Cruises has fully deployed the CrunchTime! product suite fleet-wide and at its corporate offices in California and England.

The CrunchTime! solution features centralized bid and contract management, recipe scaling, food cost modeling, perpetual inventory management, storeroom to outlet distribution, procurement, receiving and invoice reconciliation, location-level and enterprise-wide reporting, product containerization and seamless integration to point-of-sale and general ledger systems. Princess uses CrunchTime! to bid, source and procure products at all its ports throughout the world.

Princess uses CrunchTime!’s server-based Enterprise ManagerTM and Web-based Net-ChefTM client applications daily at the multitude of outlets on board its fleet of 15 ships. The Net-Chef application runs on a Web server connected to a local onboard database. On each ship, CrunchTime! is used to place and receive orders, manage internal product distribution, scale recipes, process inventories and generate reports. The application also integrates with each ship’s point-of-sale system to provide perpetual inventory at its operating outlets.

At the corporate offices, CrunchTime! is used by the purchasing and operations departments to manage the supply chain, track consumption, calculate food costs, review gross earnings and margins and oversee the cost of sales. CrunchTime! has a replication feature that enables the databases at corporate and the ships to synchronize at regular intervals. Using CrunchTime!, the cruise line has been able to dramatically reduce fulfillment times and requisition lead times have been cut in half.

A key aspect of the product suite for Princess Cruises is the software’s ability to handle multiple currencies and provide a real-time view of shipboard operations. Ships can now trade in any currency and procure from suppliers around the world using the local currency.
