Director of Infrastructure and Network Systems

CrunchTime! has an immediate opening for a Manager of Infrastructure and Network Systems. This person will be responsible for the infrastructure needs of our company and its worldwide user base. The ideal person has strong experience architecting, building, and supporting High Availability environments running an enterprise “Software as a Service” (SaaS) application.  We need someone who is innovative, visionary, and results-oriented who can lead infrastructure strategy while still being very hands-on.

Primary Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the architecture, implementation and support of infrastructure including network, firewall, FTP, email, hardware, Windows OS and Microsoft Office administration.
  • Stays abreast of new technologies and leads platform architecture strategies
  • Owns Microsoft enterprise licensing and implementation including Exchange and Office
  • Responsible for telephony, connectivity, and cellular strategies
  • Create and implement infrastructure backup and disaster recovery plan for corporate office and hosted facilities
  • Perform setup/administration/backup/recovery of Oracle production RDBMS Instances
  • Develop and implement internal IT strategies including outsourcing as well as software and hardware upgrades
  • Leads the architecture, implementation and support of collocated hosting facilities
  • Partners with technology leadership team to architect high performance high availability environments including implementing a scalable SAN solution and a load-balanced server farm
  • Manage the infrastructure budget and hardware procurement
  • Create and support product development environment and technologies
  • Provide internal technical support for hardware and software issues
  • Process customer database and application upgrades
  • Provide internal and client facing documentation for installing, upgrading and configuring entire product suite
  • Communicate with clients when needed to expedite the troubleshooting process
  • Provide after hours support as needed
  • Travel occasionally to client sites to provide technical assistance (less than 5%)

    • Skills:

  • Experience architecting “High Availability” (HA) production infrastructures
  • Experience installing, administrating and tuning middle-tier applications, web servers and Oracle databases
  • Knowledge of scripting languages and technologies to automate maintenance, deployment and monitoring of our enterprise application
  • Experience capacity planning and hardware sizing for J2EE applications and Oracle databases
  • Experience managing strategic vendor relationships
  • Experience implementing network security design and policies
  • High proficiency with Windows Server 2003 and Oracle Database Server
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent professional and teamwork skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and understand complex problems
  • Ability to work directly with external customers to provide support for the technical and database environments

    • Preferred Experience:

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Exchange
  • Experience with implementing SAN and Load Balancer Solutions
  • Experience with BEA WebLogic Server, Tomcat, MS IIS, MS SQL Server
  • Experience with the following helpful:

  • Bachelors Degree in 4 year program (preferably with a concentration in Computer Science or other technical program)
  • Experience with setup, configuration, and administration of Oracle and other relational databases
  • 5+ years as a senior network engineer and experience leading others
