CrunchTime! has an immediate opening for a Senior Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence Architect. This person will be responsible for architecting and developing our BI solution to include ETL, Data Warehouse Design (Oracle) and Business Intelligence user experience (Micro Strategy). We are looking for someone who is innovative, visionary, and results-oriented who can take ownership of the system design and technical implementation of our cloud-based Business Intelligence offering. The ideal candidate will be based in the Boston area and will be able to work with tight deadlines.
Primary role and responsibilities:
- Working with the Product Manager to understand the complex business requirements and develop a scalable DW/BI offering that balances the functional business requirements with the technology capabilities
- Responsible for ETL of data from our legacy applications to the Data Warehouse Environment.
- Construction of a Data Warehouse that will support efficient and dynamic reporting
- Leverage the capabilities of Micro Strategy to create a BI architecture that will meet the current and future reporting needs of our growing user community
- Define optimum architecture, physical model design, configuration, capacity planning and tuning for data warehouse and BI server to meet those requirements.
- Identify and assist correcting performance bottlenecks, debug database, application or data content related issues.
- Develop EDW solution proofs of concept (POC)
- Develop and automate reliable and scalable ETL process to pull data from EDW and other data sources as requirements evolve.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures.
- Actively monitor performance of the environment and individual components to ensure CrunchTime’s SLA are met.
- Enhance standards and best practice approaches.
- Train and guide internal customers of the Data Warehouse and other data sources to maximize their facility with using business intelligence tools to query, report on and analyze their data.
Skills:
- Must be able to provide strong technical leadership and product vision for an enterprise solution that will be used by Fortune 1000 companies around the world
- Experience with Oracle and Data Warehouse design and implementation in a Linux Environment
- Must have demonstrated management experience, exceptional analytical skills, and strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Must be able to demonstrate a clear and organized approach to solving complex problems
- Must be able to balance hands-on approach with team leadership and mentoring
Preferred experience:
- Experience architecting enterprise-class business intelligence solutions in a commercial environment
- Must have experience with hardware configuration, resource planning, and system tuning.
- Strong work ethic with ability to succeed in a minimally structured environment
- Flexible, resourceful, and creative in approach
- Experience working with restaurant or hospitality systems a plus but not a requirement
- Bachelors Degree in 4 year program (preferably with a concentration in Computer Science or other technical program)
