CrunchTimer Spotlight: 6 Questions with JoAnna Magnuson
Every month, the CrunchTimer Spotlight asks six questions to a valued member of our team. We're proud of the rich experience and diverse backgrounds our team has. Check out new interviews each month here on the CrunchTime Blog.
JoAnna Magnuson is a Product Specialist on our Client Services team who helps new clients implement the CrunchTime platform all over the world. Since joining CrunchTime in July 2017, Joanna has helped launch the CrunchTime platform for 16 restaurant brands in four countries! We spoke about what she does on a day-to-day basis, what she loves about her role, and more.
1: Tell us more about the responsibilities in your role:
I’m counted on to use my teaching and project management skills to guide new clients through the implementation process. My primary goal is to lead our customers to success by getting their team started on the right foot. I know I’ve successfully done my job if the people I’m working with understand how our product functions and can quickly use it to gain results.
2: What's the coolest thing you’ve done in your role, so far?
I’ve had the opportunity to travel to some really interesting places world-wide for a wide variety of clients. From right next door in Woburn, Massachusetts to Melbourne, Australia and some other really great places in-between!
3: What's your favorite thing about working at CrunchTime?
I really appreciate the emphasis we put on expanding knowledge. This is so important to me because it’s my duty to make sure our new customers gain the knowledge they need to be successful with our products. There’s always something more to learn at CrunchTime.
4: What led you to CrunchTime?
I have a passion for learning and teaching others. After graduating from business school at Bentley University, I worked at a Boston start-up where I deployed software, trained new-hires, and developed process documentation. I really enjoy having the opportunity to work with great clients and it’s important that I make an impact where I work both internally and externally. I also used to work at a restaurant, so I know what the end result of my work should look like!
5: What do you like doing outside of the office?
I’m a citizen of the world! I love to travel and be outside. This past year I’ve had the opportunity to hit the slopes in Vail, catch a game at the Women’s World Cup in France, soak up some sun in Honolulu, and most recently hike the Inca Trail in Peru. That’s why traveling to exciting places to deploy CrunchTime is such an amazing job for me!
6: What’s a fun fact about you?
Before my days at CrunchTime I took some time professionally to move to Spain and work as an English Teacher at an elementary school outside of Madrid. This was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and love to talk about it to anyone who’ll listen!
