CrunchTimer Spotlight: 6 Questions with Sravani Jayaraman

CrunchTime's Quality Assurance Engineers test and troubleshoot our restaurant software suite of applications as well as build and enhance automation frameworks.

Say hi to Sravani Jayaraman from our QA team. She's not only a pro QAE, she's also a pro mom and a popular Instagrammer, too.

1: Tell us more about the responsibilities in your role?

Hi my name is Sravani Jayaraman and I'm a QA Engineer here at CrunchTime.  My responsibilities include analyzing, reviewing, and understanding business requirements of the application and to engage in end-to-end testing of the functionality of the application from a customer point-of-view.

As a subject-matter expert for our applications, I must collaborate closely with PMs, BAs, Development, and Customer Support teams to identify the best strategies for delivering full functional test suites.  On top of that, QAs at CrunchTime have to work to maintain test cases for the business functionality that can be run as manual tests and implemented as automated test jobs. QAs also make sure our test methods and procedures are documented, too.  All of this is to ensure the continuous improvement to our software's quality assurance standards and test activities.

As you can tell, testing and analysis is a lot of work.  We're analyzing test results to ensure our product's existing functionality and we recommend corrective action if there's one to be made. We even assist in the assessment and planning of test efforts required for new functions and features under development.

2: What's the coolest thing you’ve done in your role, so far?

I’ve had the opportunity to work in different modules in the application, and gain knowledge about the restaurant industry operations which I never knew about. I also got an opportunity to complete my CSE (Certified Scrum Master) certification, which I always wanted to pursue.

3: What's your favorite thing about working at CrunchTime?

I am so glad there’s always something more to learn at CrunchTime to gain more knowledge to be successful in my career. As a working mom, I really appreciate the WFH flexibility the company offers.  This is so important to me because it’s my responsibility to make sure I balance both my work and parental life. And, I really like our humble team who are always helping and supportive with any questions I may have.  It's a really nice working relationship and environment.

4: What led you to CrunchTime?

After graduating from Rivier University in NH, I worked in Boston in several insurance-related industries. I really enjoy having the opportunity to work in different business domains and explore new areas -- which I never had exposure to before. I want to make a mark on everywhere I go and that’s how CrunchTime attracted me to explore the exciting restaurant industry.

5: What do you like doing outside of the office?

I love to travel all around the world. I put my heart out there for everyone with my writing and sketching skills.SJ sketch

6: What’s a fun fact about you?

Instagram_AppIcon_Aug2017I’m a food and fashion blogger on Instagram and a freelance model, too! And, I am also obsessed with plush toys -- shh!!

- Thanks for your time, Sravani! ;-) - CT
